Rutgers Contract Negotiations Underway

Our HPAE Local 5135 bargaining committee is meeting with Rutgers administration this afternoon in New Brunswick. This is our first official bargaining session with the University since the dissolution of UMDNJ and we are looking forward to productive negotiations.

Earlier this year, HPAE RNs completed bargaining surveys at Rutgers indicating our priorities for a new contract. Top of the list are job security, fair wages and parity including tuition remission. 

The committee will be submitting our initial proposals. We are working in coalition with our HPAE sister unions at the University and the broader Coalition of Rutgers Unions to coordinate our contract campaigns and win the best contract possible.
