HPAE Local 5089 Wage Increase Issues at Rutgers

We have been getting calls from members concerning problems with the retro pay from the October 2014 wage increase. It appears that in many cases the retro payments do not correspond to the hours logged and do not seem to include retro on benefit time hours. We have notified Rutgers Labor Relations of the problem and have sent them copies of pay stubs from affected members. We have also asked payroll to conduct a review of all the retro payments for this bargaining unit and to correct any and all errors with proper notice sent to the members and the Union.

Rutgers Labor Relations responded today saying that the incorrect payment was due to a payroll error resulting in one full year of missing retro payment. They assure us that the remaining retro balance will be paid in the April 22nd paycheck.

If you have discovered a discrepancy in your April 8th check, please print out your current pay stub and your earnings page for the time period Oct 2014-present from the University portal and fax them to your HPAE Staff Representative, Christine Munck, at 732-253-7426. If you are a .3, .5, or Per Diem, please indicate that on your fax cover sheet.

We’ll continue to monitor this situation and update you accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Christine Munck at 732-640-0894 ext. 419.
