Strike Authorization Vote Set for Friday and Saturday

With many of the key issues still unresolved in the ongoing negotiations for a first contract, Local 5629 members at AAC/Sunrise House will be taking a strike authorization vote on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.

The vote will be held: 7 am – 9 am, AAC Entrance on Sunset Inn Rd., 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm, Unity Church (25 Mudcut Rd., Lafayette, NJ), and 5:30 pm – 7 PM, Unity Church.

Enough is Enough

The last several negotiations have focused on wages, staffing, security, and holiday pay. We made reasonable proposals back in October. We’ve even made adjustments lower on staffing numbers and wages from our original proposals.

Management’s response on wages?
20 cent raises for nearly 50% of the staff…and they’re not budging

Management’s response to our staffing proposal?
No additional staff for any departments or job titles…and they’re not budging

Management’s response to our security proposals?
No security staff and refusal to accept members’ proposals to limit potential violence in the workplace….and they’re not budging

Management’s response to holiday pay?
No Holiday pay…and they’re not budging
