Murphy, Political Leaders Support Minimum Wage Hike

Congressman Norcross speaking at the press conference

During a statehouse press conference today in Trenton, HPAE and other unions joined with Governor-Elect Murphy, Congressman Donald Norcross, Senate President Steve Sweeney, and Speaker-Elect Craig Coughlin to support a hike in the minimum wage in New Jersey to $15/hour.

While no specific timetable was proposed at the press conference, Murphy and the other political leaders are determined to move quickly toward this goal. Previous efforts to raise the minimum wage were vetoed by Governor Christie.
