Local 5094 Rowan University contract update, November 5

Our HPAE Local 5094 Negotiating Committee held a 10 hour bargaining session with Rowan University on November 2, 2018. While we had hoped today would be our last session at the table, there is still more work to be done. We are scheduled to meet with Rowan again on November 15th to negotiate the remaining items on the table.

Below are the updates from the session:

  • We received our first counter offer from Rowan for our wage proposal we put across the table at our 9/21 session. We were able to provide a modification back across the table before the end of the session.
  • We were formally presented with a proposal for a one year contract that would line our Union up with the expiration of the State contracts at Rowan University
  • We signed off on Tentative Agreements for bereavement leave, Union rights protections, information sharing, and other housekeeping changes to the contract
  • We continued to go back and forth on integration of WDEA legislation into the contract.

These efforts Friday and moving forward will continue help our team reach a successor contract that we can all be proud of. We encourage all our members to show support for our session coming up on November 15th by wearing red and stopping by the session.

We will continue to negotiate diligently with Rowan until we have reached a successor agreement.
