WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTIONS
“Mindfulness
and Relaxation Techniques for
Healthcare Professionals”
Healthcare professionals face high
levels of stress as we provide
skilled care to increasingly sicker
patients while experiencing short
staffing, floating, and other
conditions detrimental to quality,
patient care.
While we need to address these
problems directly in the work place,
it is also useful to understand and
practice techniques that can reduce
the level of stress that we face.
Learn about mindfulness and other
relaxation techniques in this
interactive workshop.

“Health
Care Without Harm”
From
the OR to the lab, and from patient
rooms to the cafeteria, hospitals
make thousands of purchasing, waste
disposal and other decisions that
affect the health of patients, staff
and the environment. Health Care
Without Harm is an international
coalition working to transform
health care, without compromising
patient care or safety, from an
industry whose practices pollute and
contribute to disease to one that
promotes the health of people and
the environment. Learn how you and
your co-workers can be part of this
exciting transformation.

Protecting Your Nursing/Professional
License
Healthcare providers are required to
do more documentation and paperwork
than ever before, in part, because
of new legal requirements. In
today's healthcare environment, that
may mean an increased workload with
less staff to complete the job and a
readiness to take shortcuts.
Kathy
Gialanella, RN, Esq. will explain
the pitfalls of this approach and
how to "practice safely" to protect
our licenses.
Speaker: Kathy Gialenella, RN, Esq.
