FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HPAE LOCAL 5029

Dear Member and friends,

As you probably already know, in September 2007 Pascack Valley Hospital (PVH) filed for bankruptcy and filed an application with the Department of Health and Senior Services to relinquish their certificate of need as an acute care hospital. The hospital ceased all clinical services, including Emergency Room services, on November 21 and all the employees, including approximately 400 RNs and Technicians of Local 5029 were permanently laid off.

HPAE has established a special fund to help laid off Local 5029 members who need assistance in paying for health insurance. At the State Executive Council meeting, each HPAE local at other facilities agreed to contribute to this fund through donation from their rebate accounts.  

What you can do

In addition to local contributions, each member/person can make a personal contribution to this fund. With your support we will be able to help eligible members pay for their health insurance premiums for  a period of three-months

To contribute  you can mail a check to payable to HPAE - 110 Kinderkamack Rd., Emerson, NJ 07630 Subject: Local 5029 financial support.
