Members Ratify First Contract With New Owners

Local 5122 members ratified their first contract with EVVNA’s new owners, the Visiting Nurses Association Health Group. The contract expires Oct. 31, 2013.

The contract contains an excellent work load provision that limits the visits per week requirements and counts more complicated visits as “double”. The contract language states, “All assignments shall consider not only time spent in the patient’s home but also the time needed for completion of documentation within the scheduled workday.” This language addresses a major complaint of the members: the time they spend completing their documentation at home on a cumbersome PDA system.

In addition, between across the board wage increases and differentials for experience, education and certification, over the next 18 months members will see increases of 3% (if no BSN or certification and less than 10 years of experience) to 7.5% (if qualified for all of the differentials).
