SOCH is exploring the possibility of an affiliation with another hospital system.

Staff reduction has been increasing due to low census again. Usually the summer is our busiest time, what about this year?

Occupational liability insurance

Recently you were mailed a flyer concerning the availability of liability insurance issue

that we approached last year. Please read that brochure and understand the coverage you will receive, including access to a malpractice lawyer should you need one. Many of you expressed disappointment that the vote was not successful  at that time. Since so few members actually voted, we have decided to take a vote at the General Membership Meeting to finalize this decision. Right now most of us who carry Nursing malpractice insurance pay any where from $70 -$150 a year for our coverage. This policy offers the same coverage at a group rate for about $10 a year, this amounts to about 25 cents a pay. With costs rising at every turn, this is a significant savings. A small way that your union can help you.
