Staffing Petition Signed by Over 900 Cooper Nurses Presented to Administration

Cooper nurses have just shown how united we are in achieving a contract which guarantees substantial improvements in staffing at the hospital.

Staffing Petition

At a bargaining session today, a staffing petition signed by over 900 nurses was presented to management. The petition highlights the “growing crisis in the quality and safety of patient care at our hospital” and urges “Nursing Administration to work with our Union Negotiating Committee to address our growing patient safety concerns by increasing the number of nurses and adhere to a 1:5 patient assignment on the medical surgical, telemetry and oncology units.”

As we move toward the May 31st expiration date, we will continue to demonstrate to Cooper that staffing is priority #1 in the negotiations.
