Local 5004 EHMC negotiations update, May 18
We held our tenth negotiation session today.
Management has yet to acknowledge our proposals on Staffing and Professional Development.
While we began the day modifying our proposals to address the reservations that they have raised, they waited until the end of the day to return without addressing any of those issues.
Again, shortly before 5 PM management finally came to the table with a MODIFIED TIME LIMITED OFFER . This offer varied little from the one that was rejected by the members on Tuesday – the only change was to raise the Longevity Bonus for nurses above the wage scale and making a minimal proposal on Medical and Relief missions. They also withdrew their proposals designed to discourage enforcing our contract through arbitration. There was no change to their offer of 1% each December.

They continue to refuse to address our member’s day to day issues. We return to negotiations on Monday.
