We held our 13th negotiation session today. Late in the day, management gave us their “final offer.” They made a small increase to their wage offer but continue to refuse to address many important issues including staffing and basic educational needs to properly care for our patients. Many of their proposals are intended to divide us – don’t let them do this with false promises.
While we had told management that we would give them a 10-Day notice if progress wasn’t made today, late in the day we received a request from the Federal Mediator to not give a notice until they are available to meet with the parties next Tuesday. In light of this request, HPAE and EHMC mutually agreed to cancel negotiations tomorrow and meet on Tuesday with the Mediator.
It is our hope that the mediator can assist us in reaching an agreement.
We will be having our next membership meeting on Wednesday, May 30 where we will give a complete update on negotiations. If there is no agreement, we will discuss preparations for a job action. In the event an agreement is reached at Tuesday’s negotiation session, we will present the Tentative Agreement for a ratification vote.
