Local 5030 Negotiations Update, July 18

MANAGEMENT CONTINUES TO STALL ON THEIR PROPOSALS

In negotiations yesterday, management once again came to the table unprepared and refused to present any economic proposals.

Instead, management gave a presentation of their updated website which they said will go public this afternoon. Our team will not negotiate without written proposals presented at the table.

We have filed an Unfair Labor Practice because HMH presented a new set of terms and conditions of employment concerning mandatory subjects of bargaining without first negotiating with your union and for bargaining in bad faith.

HMH is violating the law and illegally ignoring our union and our power by presenting terms on its website. The law requires management to bargain over these terms with our union.

Management has not agreed to negotiate on any further dates in July.

On Tuesday, members voted to authorize concerted activity up to and including a strike with 98% voting in support. Stay strong and united! We are prepared to fight for our patients, benefits and our union rights.
