HPAE 5094 Bargaining Update, May 14 - Health Professionals & Allied Employees

HPAE 5094 Bargaining Update, May 14

We are very close to agreement on many issues. However, Rutgers finally presented a promised counter on out of title work and job reclassifications that we had to spend the bulk of the session reviewing and negotiating over. We presented our own counterproposal which Rutgers is reviewing.

We reached agreement on bringing our mandatory leave day language in line with Rutgers Legacy policy and adding a mandatory leave day to staff who are required to work over the holidays at a facility that is closed.

We presented the latest version of a complete memorandum of agreement which included our counters on wages and FMLA. We are very close on wages and the only outstanding issue on FMLA is regarding which donated leave program will be in use and how it will allow for the 12-week extension.

We have a number of sessions at various tables scheduled over the next two weeks with the goal of reaching a settlement, including:

  • Thursday 5/16 Joint Union Coalition table on Public/Private Partnerships (Barnabas)
  • Wednesday 5/22 Joint HPAE table on administrative issues within all three HPAE contracts.
  • Thursday 5/23 and Friday 5/24 next HPAE Local 5094 Bargaining.

Member action is working, but in order to win a good contract, we have to keep up the pressure until we have a signed agreement!

ALL MEMBERS MUST COMPLETE THE STIKE SURVEY

Our next sessions are 5/23 and 5/24 (ASB II, NB). E-mail akulenovic@hpae.org to RSVP.
