DOL comes to JSUMC to investigate payroll errors

We have been working with management and the Department of Labor to raise your concerns about payroll.

The Department of Labor and the head of HMH Payroll department will be at JSUMC on Tuesday, July 23 from 9am to 12 noon.  They will be available to speak to staff about your payroll issues.  Go to Phoebe’s (the employee cafeteria) room 4 and bring copies of your paycheck and any other supporting evidence (schedule, etc).  If you cannot attend that session, please let us know so that we can encourage them to hold more sessions.

Second,  while we are going through EPIC training, you cannot be forced to work overtime  in order to attend EPIC training. You must be given the option of doing the training as overtime or as a part of your regular hours.

Download the Epic training flyer here.

Let us know at local5058@hpae.org if you are being forced to work overtime on your unit.

Last, agency nurses have specific guidelines as to how they work in our hospital. Hours must be posted for our nurses first and agency is first to be cancelled and floated. Please let us know if any issues on your unit at local5058@hpae.org.  See the link for many of the contract articles that protect your rights.
