On Monday September 23rd, the HPAE negotiating committee met with management for another bargaining session. We were able to reach several tentative agreements that will clarify language related to probationary periods in the event a member takes a leave of absence.
In addition, we were able to make progress on staffing as management has shown a willingness to improve the target levels for every department including the Emergency Dept. We also had a discussion related to the implementation of the New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Act as HPAE maintains our position that it is the member’s right to determine if they declare NJ ESL when they call out sick.
We have not scheduled the next date for bargaining however if you would like more information, please feel free to contact your local union rep.
