Jersey Shore nurses agree on tentative contract terms with Hackensack Meridian Health System

Union members win seat at the table on pandemic planning, wage increases

Jersey Shore University Medical Center unionized Nurses reached a tentative agreement on Tuesday. Notable improvements include an improved presence in nurse involvement for pandemic planning and response and increases in wages.

“We applaud the resolve of our hardworking members in staying in this fight for the long haul,” HPAE President Debbie White, RN, said.

The 1,300 nurses represented by HPAE Local 5058 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center have bravely cared for thousands of patients on the Covid-19 pandemic frontlines. Starting Monday morning, members will vote on ratification of the tentative agreement, with the vote closing on Tuesday, July 7th. Details of the contract will be released after ratification is complete.
