EHMC Negotiation Line May 21, 2021- is a fabrication of the hospital’s proposals.
WAGES – EHMC proposal is 1% each year with the step increase. HPAE is asking for 4% first year plus steps – 2.75% & 2.75% subsequent years with steps.
Preceptor pay is the Union’s proposal and it is a $2.00/hr. differential and pay out monies to nurses who have banked educational credits.
CE– do you really believe the hospital offers extraordinary amount of professional development opportunities? and only FT nurses get a CE day?
Per diem assignment bonus – turns out to be $2.88/hr. extra.
NJ Earned Sick Leave Act– the hospital initially wanted us to waive our rights to this law. HPAE bargained for it to be in contract.
Weekend Flex – ability to have paid sick time – HPAE made this proposal.
Vacation – HPAE proposed expanding the summer vacation period ONLY if EHMC agrees to a fairer formula for determining the number of nurses who can take vacation at a time on the same shift. Currently some units have the ability for a .2 FTE to take vacation. What is a .2 FTE ability to take vacation – 1 day!!!
JNPC – facilitator is the union’s proposal.
