Member Update on Retention Bonuses

Our Union has bargained for and agreed to an ED retention bonus which includes RNs at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Southern Ocean and RN’s, PCT’s, Behavior Health Techs and Social Workers in the ED at Palisades.

  • There are 4 bonus periods for RN’s and 3 bonus periods for PCT’s, Behavior Health Techs and Social Workers. Bonuses will be paid in a separate check and is retroactive to September 5th.
  • New hires and transfers must have successfully completed the 90-day probationary period and any extended probationary period. These periods count toward the 75% of time worked for the bonus period.
  • Must not have received a level II or level I third warning (probation) disciplinary action during the current bonus period.
  • You must work at least 75% of the entire bonus period in an eligible position.
  • The “Bonuses” are paid in six month increments over a 24 -month period for eligible RN’s and 18 months for all other positions.
  • Registered Nurses full-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $30,000, part-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $15,000
  • Social Workers (MSW) and Mental Health Worker at PMC full-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $13,500, part-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $6,750
  • Patient Care Technician and Behavioral Health Tech ER at PMC full-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $5,000, part-time will be eligible for a potential bonus of $2,500.

Your Leaders are now in bargaining for COVID unit-based bonus for RN’s, CNA’s, Respiratory Therapist (registered and certified) and monitor techs in 3E, 5W, ICU/CCU at PMC. RNs for Jersey Shore in NW6 and Medical ICU and RNs at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Short Stay, IMCU, ICU/CCU and Respiratory Care. HMH is saying these are inpatient Covid care environments. We are looking at 3 bonus periods that would run from retroactive October 3 till December 25. We will keep you posted on the bargaining for these units. We continue to fight for recognition for all of our members.
