Local 5097 negotiated new wages for all members and a new wage scale based on experience and service

In person membership meeting pertaining to the New Wage Rates with Complete Care next Thursday, February 9 from 9am until 4pm in the auditorium outside of the Harborage.

We have reached an agreement with Complete Care after meeting with them for 3 days.   We were able to negotiate wages we have never seen at this local before. We agreed to the following:

  1. We established our 1st wage scales for a 20 years of experience CNAs, Unit Clerks, Housekeeping, Laundry, Recreation Aides, Receptionists and Maintenance.
  2. We took CNAs with no experience from $15.25 an hour to hiring in at $19.00 and the top being 20 years at $21.50. All current CNA’s and Unit Clerks will be placed on the new scale based on their years of experience.
  3. New wage scale for Housekeeping, Recreation Aides & Receptionists went from $15 an hour to $16.00 an hour and top out at 20 years at $19.00. All current housekeepers, Recreation Aides & Receptionists will be placed on the new scale based on years of services.
  4. New wage scale for Laundry went from $15 an hour to $16 an hour and top out at 20 years at $19. All Current laundry aides will be placed on the new scale based on years of services.
  5. New wage scale for Maintenance went from $15.50 an hour to $17 an hour and top out at 20 years at $22 an hour. All current maintenance will be placed on the new scale based on years of services.
  6. CNA’s who were above the new scale they will get $.50 cents added to their base rate.
  7. Housekeepers that were above the new scale they will get $.25 cents added to their base rate or an $850 longevity bonus.
  8. Complete Care only wanted to give those above the new scale a onetime longevity bonus, but the team keep pushing for money added to their base rate and were successful at the last hour.
  9. New pay rates go into effect next pay cycle.
  10. This will help with retention and will help with recruitment as we face a staffing shortage.

Please stop by the auditorium outside the Harborage for your new wage rate on Thursday, February 9 From 9am until 4pm.

In solidarity,

Local 5097 Bargaining Team
