Late Thursday, June 15, HPAE received the attached notice from ACC that states the State DOH revoked their license to operate and has ordered that Sunrise House be closed. It was closed to admissions as of June 14 and they intend to have all patients “complete treatment and discharge before July 1, 2023.”

According to that notice they do not know when, or if, Sunrise House will re-open.

They intend to layoff the entire staff, but have not shared with us their plan for the timing of when members will be laid off. They have offered to meet with the Union to discuss our “concerns.”

At this time, we do not know anything more about this situation.

We have sent the employer a legal demand to bargain notice and a request for information.

We will continue to let you know information as soon as we can.

Please come to this vital meeting. We hope to have more information at that time about the options available to the Union and our members.

We have invited a representative from the NJ Department of Labor to be at the meeting to provide information and answer questions about Unemployment Benefits.
