HPAE statement on the proposed merger of Englewood Health with the RWJBarnabas Health System

“The Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE), which represents more than 700 nurses at Englewood Hospital, acknowledges the announcement that RWJBarnabas Health is acquiring Englewood Hospital. HPAE looks forward to working collaboratively with Robert Wood Johnson to ensure a smooth transition that protects patient care and respects the dedicated nurses who serve the community.

“HPAE’s collective bargaining agreement includes strong successor language, ensuring that nurses’ rights, wages, benefits, and working conditions are protected throughout the acquisition process. The union remains committed to a relationship with the new ownership to support high-quality care and a stable, supported nursing workforce.”

~ HPAE President Debbie White, RN.
