How Do we Minimize Violence Risk in Healthcare?

2020 HPAE Safety Day, April 1, 2020,
8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Rutgers Labor Center, New Brunswick, NJ

HPAE members across NJ and southern PA are being assaulted and injured at unprecedented rates due to uncontrolled workplace violence in healthcare, with nurses and behavioral health workers suffering most. Violence risk impacts patient outcomes, healthcare delivery, community support, and staffing retention in addition to damaging workers’ careers, families, health and well-being.

Earn 5.5 Continuing Education credits at the 2020 HPAE Safety Day, highlighting best practices and ‘lessons learned’ to minimize workplace violence risk for healthcare workers. Join us for a series of workshops and panel discussions to learn about de-escalation skills, violence control plans and collaborative risk management programs, and to understand worker rights and the role of OSHA and NJ PEOSH in establishing safer work environments for all.
