Alternative to Discipline:  It’s the Law

Did you know that New Jersey has an Alternative to Discipline (ATD) law that protects nurses from public discipline if they comply with certain requirements?  Learn about the requirements of the ATD law, whether or not a licensee is eligible for ATD, and how the New Jersey Board of Nursing relies upon the Recovery and Monitoring Program (RAMP) when a licensee is eligible for ATD.
Objectives for Two Hour Presentation:

  1. Explore the requirements of the law that established NJ’s Alternative to Discipline Program for nurses.
  2. Discuss legal concerns that can arise for a nurse who is enrolled in an Alternative to Discipline Program (RAMP).
