HPAE Web Quiz #18: Alex Wubbels

On July 26, 2017, Alex Wubbels, a nurse, was arrested after refusing to give a police officer in Utah vials of blood from a patient who had been involved in a vehicular accident. The police officer claimed that he needed the blood for an investigation, but Wubbels – supported by her supervisor at the hospital – refused to provide the blood since the police officer did not have a warrant or meet any of the mandatory criteria needed for taking blood. Although this was an outrageous abuse of authority by the police officer and a courageous response from Alex Wubbels, the question for this HPAE WEb Quiz has a different focus: Before becoming a nurse, Wubbels competed two times in an Olympic sport. What sport did she compete in?

The first ten members who respond correctly to this question (one member for each local) will win a $25 American Express gift card.
