Resistance Activities to Save Our Healthcare, Protect Our Rights

The policies of the Trump administration represent a threat to our healthcare and essential social services, the rights of immigrants, citizens and workers, and to the environment. In response, HPAE, other unions, community organizations, and many other groups are responding by taking action to resist these policies.

Here are some of the key resistance actions coming up:

People’s Climate Movement – April 29

Join the Peoples Climate Movement this April 29th in Washington, D.C. and across the country to stand up for our communities and climate.

Everything we have struggled to move forward in the United States is in peril. Our loved ones feel under siege, and those in power in Washington are advancing a dark and dangerous vision of America that we know is untrue. To change everything, we need everyone.

Sign up for the march in Washington, D.C.

May Day Rallies at Rutgers – May 1

This May Day, Monday, May 1, hundreds of thousands of people in the US will participate in rallies, marches and other actions in defense of immigrants and labor rights, and to continue the resistance to the Trump agenda. At Rutgers, HPAE Local 5094 is joining with other unions, student organizations and community groups to show solidarity with each other and the communities we serve.

On all three main campuses, we will hold rallies from 12 noon to 1 pm Monday, May 1, and we are asking everyone to wear red that day and participate in the rallies, if they can. In addition, we’ll be distributing new stickers for all to wear and post.
