Bargaining Update, September 3, 2025

The Bargaining Team met with management yesterday and today. Here’s where things stand:

Management presented us with a new wage scale — that would still make us one of the lowest-paid hospitals in New Jersey, lower than CentraState, Monmouth Medical Center, and others.

They also presented us with a staffing proposal — which leaves out many departments in the hospital, and does not provide safe ratios for the departments they did include.

They are maintaining many of their most obnoxious proposals, including flexing and proposals that would make it easier to float our members. They still have not agreed to other important proposals, like wanding at all hospital entrances.

This is not good enough. For us and for our patients, we need:

  • Fair wages
  • Safe staffing
  • Real protections against workplace violence

Our team is holding firm on what we need from HMH — and we need you with us.

Join us at bargaining tomorrow as we show our union power and solidarity. Let’s make it clear:

We deserve better — and we will not back down.
