Bargaining Update, September 6, 2025
We were proud to have over 1400 members vote yes to strike last week. Your support, and the overwhelming support of so many of our fellow members, sent a strong message and made a real difference on the four days we met with management this week.
We’ve continued to advocate on key issues including pay, staffing, and workplace safety. Having our members join us at bargaining this week also moved management on issues including equal mandatory on-call pay for all departments. We haven’t reached an agreement on that yet, but we think we’re close.
We’re also pleased to report that we reached a tentative agreement on health and safety. The agreement includes wanding for weapons at all open hospital entrances starting in the near future. Management also plans to work with us to implement flagging of charts for patients who are aggressive or violent toward staff.
As you may know, our contract is currently scheduled to expire on Monday, September 8th. We want to be clear that we have not issued a strike notice to the hospital. In fact, we already added another bargaining day on Monday, and we are hoping to make additional progress. All members should continue to report to work as normal unless they hear otherwise from our team. We will only call a strike as a last resort if management is not willing to meet our reasonable demands.
Please join us at General Membership Meetings via Zoom on Wednesday, September 10th, to discuss where we are in our contract campaign. Find more info and sign up here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/3mdptzOOQhGpNDaiZYTj7A
