Notice of 2026 Nominations and Election of HPAE local 5131 Officers
Please be advised that nominations are now open for all officer positions of Local 5131. Only members in good standing may nominate or be nominated. This election will take place by secret mail ballot.
POSITIONS TO BE FILLED:
- One (1) President
- One (1) First Vice President
- One (1) Second Vice President
- One (1) Secretary-Treasurer
- One (1) Grievance Chair

TERM OF OFFICE: March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2028

NOMINATIONS PROCEDURE: Members in good standing may nominate another member in good standing for office by submitting this form no later than January 5, 2026. Members may also self-nominate.
Nomination forms must include a Consent to Serve signed by the nominee (typed signatures are not accepted) and the last four digits of the nominee’s Social Security Number. For self-nomination, the candidate must include the signature of at least one other member in good standing supporting their nomination.
Each member may nominate only one candidate per position and may only be a candidate for one position. Once the nomination period closes, consent cannot be withdrawn without approval from the Elections Committee.

Candidates are encouraged to confirm receipt before the deadline by emailing [email protected].
NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: Form must be received no later than January 5, 2026. Forms received after this time will not be accepted. No exceptions
ELECTION INFORMATION: Ballots will be mailed to all members on January 16, 2026, and completed ballots must be returned by February 16, 2026. Members may update their mailing address at: www.hpae.org/update-my-information. Members must abide by the HPAE local union election rules, which can be viewed here: www.hpae.org/resources/electionrules. Unopposed candidates shall be deemed elected.
Candidates may submit campaign statements, which will be posted on the local webpage. Statements are due by January 12, 2026, 5:00 pm. Statements should be five hundred (500) words or less and submitted in electronic form to [email protected]. A campaign photo may be submitted.
Electioneering on the following platforms or venues is strictly prohibited: Union’s Facebook or other social media platforms, Union bulletin boards, union premises, union meetings. This does not bar candidates from campaigning on their own social media accounts
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for office a person must be a member in good standing of the organization for a period of six months prior to the date of the election.
All elected candidates will attend an HPAE new officer training.
