An official from the New Jersey Department of Health warned Hudson Regional Health that they can’t close Heights University Hospital in Jersey City overnight in a letter issued the same day they announced they would be cutting non-essential services...
In a Friday afternoon press release, the hospital’s new owner, Hudson Regional Health, announced that without substantial state aid, the 153-year-old hospital, recently renamed Heights University Hospital, would likely be shuttered.
We will be holding a General Membership Call on Sunday, October 5th at 6:00pm to discuss our response to the regions goal reduction efforts as well as other local issues.
Management has NO PLAN to fix its finances and STILL doesn't know who they're planning to lay off or what services they'll close at Heights Hospital.
Our contract with Rutgers expires on 6/30/2026 and we need to start preparing for negotiations now if we want to build on the wins we accomplished last time in negotiations.
On Friday (9/26), we met with HRH ... they now claim to be already out of solutions for our newly named "Heights Hospital."
