Additional Contract Review Meetings Scheduled!

Next week, the joint HPAE Local 5089 and 5135 bargaining teams will be holding additional information meetings on the main RBHS campuses and Edna Mahan UCHC location to review the terms of the new contract and to answer any questions before voting on the Tentative Agreement. It took a year to reach this significant agreement but now, all Rutgers Registered Nurses will be working under one contract. This opportunity to merge the two units resulted in some significant gains and has opened the door for us to continue our fight for parity. Some highlights of the agreement include:

• Merged Agreement for all HPAE Registered Nurses
• Four-year contract – expires June 30, 2022
• Wage increases
• Professional Recognition Pilot Program
• Improvements in sick leave and bereavement leave
• A new Vision Care benefit

Members will have the opportunity to vote by-mail to ratify the new contract. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will be conducting the vote. Expect a ballot from AAA to your home in the next 7-10 days.

Contract Ratification Vote: Voting will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association.
Voting will be by mail. Members will be mailed a ballot. More details forthcoming.

Meetings are open to members only. Membership applications will be available at meetings for non-members who wish to join. Please note, lunch will not be provided at these meetings, plan accordingly. Meeting times and locations subject to change.
