On Thursday, April 3rd, Pam, Karen and several other members attended the 2nd step grievance meetings for the sick time and PTO accrual issues. Each member spoke to how the changes to the accruals will affect them and our membership as a whole. The presence of your co-workers at this meeting clearly showed management how important this issue is to us. Great job to the nurses who came out! Management now has 7 days to respond. We will let you know as soon as we hear.
If this grievance is denied, the next step in the grievance process will be to take it to a neutral arbitrator. As arbitration can be a long process, we will be continuing to do actions that put pressure on management to settle our grievance and agree to the accruals and sick time bank that you deserve.
