Insurance Claim Update
Above any policy or procedure, our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA, our contract) is supposed to be the final word on the relationship between management and our members. In our hard fought benefits and rights, our CBA clearly states under Article 24: Insurance, “Any member participating in the Medical Benefits Plan who has services provided at HRH shall not be responsible for any payment.” Unfortunately, members who have enrolled in our Medical Insurance and have had services rendered at Hudson Regional Hospital have been receiving bills erroneously and in violation of our contract. Members who have received said bills such as for blood work, tests, etc. performed at HRH please make copies of your bills and get them to your union leaders or email them to [email protected] no later than Sunday November 9. They will be included in an ongoing grievance to not only pay our wrongfully issued bills but also to uphold our contract to the letter, especially when it’s so explicitly clear.
In the meantime, please do not let your bills fall into collections. Please make minimum payment plans which, as long as you are paying even $5 a month, are not delinquent. Do not let the actions of our management affect your credit as we fight to make this right.
Any questions or concerns? Please find your union leaders listed below or email your questions and medical bills to [email protected].
