READ IMMEDIATELY – Union Update, November 14, 2025
On November 13, Hudson Regional announced plans to close all Heights units except the Emergency Department. We believe this rushed and potentially unlawful action leaves the community without a functional hospital and puts patients at risk. It is also profoundly unfair to the dedicated nurses serving this community and its patients. We have notified the Department of Health and the Department of Labor.
Unless you have written confirmation from your employer stating that your employment has been terminated, keep reporting until you are officially told not to—in writing—by your supervisor. You should request something in writing from your supervisor immediately.
We will have a membership meeting Monday, 11/17/25 at 12:00 to provide an update. A representative from the Department of Labor will be present to discuss your rights and options. RSVP and Join HERE: https://aft.zoom.us/meeting/register/V2inO1f2TGWXaHadsTpZ1A
Once you have an official notice of Layoff, you should file for unemployment as soon as possible. Our union is filing a formal complaint with the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division over missed paychecks. We are actively gathering information and taking every necessary legal step to ensure that all members are paid what they are owed.
If you decide to accept a position at another facility, be sure to obtain a formal written offer letter.
In solidarity,
HPAE 5186 Executive Board
