What you Need to Know – Follow-Up From Union Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended our Contract Negotiations Kickoff Meeting!
If you couldn’t make it, here is what you need to know:
- If you haven’t been a part of union negotiations before, here’s Collective Bargaining 101
- Your Bargaining Team has taken your survey responses to put together priorities: Fair Wages, Safe Staffing, and Better Benefits!
- Management is Breaking the Law. They are refusing to meet with us and not providing the information we need to bargain on a level playing field.
- Management is not acting in good faith and will not agree to any raises, better benefits, or safe staffing Unless We Force Them To.
- We are working on being Strike Ready by May 1, 2026. No one wants a strike, but Management is forcing us to be prepared
- In March, we will have a Strike School to prepare, know your rights, and answer questions. In April, we will have a Strike Authorization Vote to empower our bargaining team to call a strike if necessary.
What you can do right now:
- Take part in all union activities – to show Management we’re Strong and United.
- Fill out Unsafe Staffing Forms (https://www.hpae.org/resources/unsafe-staffing-form/) and send a copy to [email protected]
- If you can, start saving money. There are resources through our Union, but it pays to be prepared.
- Report all issues and possible contract violations to a Union Rep immediately.
- Sign our letter to Management: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/phoenix-nurses-standing-strong
In Solidarity,
Local 5107 Bargaining Team
