Local 5138 Bargaining Update, March 23

Bargaining has begun with Hackensack Meridian Health!

HPAE Local 5138 kicked off negotiations with HMH. We presented our Union proposals with regards to wages, staffing, health & safety, on call pay along with a host of other proposals. We presented twenty-five (25) proposals based on what was submitted by you on the contract survey. We will be focusing on wages, health & safety, and staffing. HMH presented us with seventeen (17) non-economic proposals.  They stated that they will present us with their economic proposals at a later session.

We were able to have HMH tentatively agree (TA) to three (3) of our proposals that dealt with cleaning up old language. We are reviewing their proposals and will meet again tomorrow, March 23rd, to continue negotiations. In addition to tomorrow’s negotiating session, we have already scheduled three (3) more additional dates for negotiations with HMH: March 24th,29th& 30th.

As with every contract negotiation, it is vitally important that all members get involved in this process so that we can maintain and protect our contract and jobs. We need members on the Contract Action Team (CAT) so that we can communicate with everyone as the negotiations play out. Click the link for info and to join:
