Local 5058 Bargaining Update, August 8, 2025

Today, the bargaining team met again with management to continue contract negotiations.

During the session, we reached agreement on some proposals we first made in June. These include ensuring union staff rep access to the hospital, ESL use on day 1 for urgent care and ED visits, and addressing the growing use of artificial intelligence in clinical settings.

Despite the incredible show of solidarity by dozens of our nurses at negotiations yesterday, we still haven’t received a detailed response to issues at the forefront which include staffing, wages, and workplace violence. To ensure that management takes these issues seriously and we win the best possible contract, management needs to know that we are ready to strike if necessary.
