Historic HPAE Strike Vote Results
Our Local 5058 strike vote resulted in over 1,400 total votes – and over 1,400 of them were YES votes! This is the largest strike vote turnout in HPAE history! In response to HMH’s unfair labor practices and their unwillingness to meet our demands, 85% of Local 5058 members participated in our HPAE strike vote, and 95% of voters authorized a strike. This means that more than 80% of our entire membership authorized a strike!
We overwhelmingly VOTED YES TO STRIKE if necessary!
Your “YES” vote authorizes our bargaining committee to send a 10-day strike notice to HMH if they don’t meet our demands for safe staffing and fair wages. This vote sends a powerful message that we are united in those demands. We’re showing HMH that we are serious and we WILL NOT back down!
We will be back at the bargaining table next week on September 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Stay tuned for updates about our last 4 bargaining sessions before our contract expires on September 8, 2025.
We have to keep the pressure on HMH. Today and Friday, call CNO Ellen Angelo and let her know we need safe staffing ratios now!
