Union Updates for September, 2025
We hope all of you had a great summer! We are writing with some general union updates and information.
Firstly, we know everyone is anxious to receive copies of our new contract books. They are coming soon! We are in the process of reviewing and copy-editing the new contract language. Once we have finished that process, the final copy will be signed and sent to the printer. As soon as the new books are in, we will let all of you know how to obtain one!
On October 27th, we will be hosting a “Know Your Contract” training and General Membership meeting in-person. Location and time TBD. We expect to have the new contract books by then and we plan to have copies ready to distribute!
In the meantime, if you have any questions about where to find contract language, please refer to the MOA and TAs document linked below the text of this email (also posted on the Local website). Any article or language NOT listed in this document remains unchanged and can be found in the 2022-2025 contract book. If you have any questions about where to find something or about a provision of the contract, please reach out to an LEB member or our Staff Rep.
Some general updates and reminders:
- The winter holidays are just around the corner now– make sure you review our new language on Holiday Scheduling in Article 48! This can be found in the MOA and TAs document linked below. All units should now be utilizing a fair rotation for holiday scheduling. If your unit is not utilizing a rotation for holiday scheduling, please reach out to us so that we can help correct the issue.
- New short staffing forms are being rolled out. Please file a short staffing form any time your unit is short-staffed, and please notify us if you attempt to use the form and find that your campus or location is missing!
- We are looking to get representation from as many departments/units as possible onto the new Staffing Committee. This Committee is run jointly by the union and management. If you are interested in participating, please reach out!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact your unit rep or one of us.
In solidarity,
Your Local Executive Board
