RN Safety and Violence Updates
- Our committee is working with Cooper to provide more effective ways of communicating to staff
- Huddles are being utilized to get out safety and violence information
- Cooper is making a conscious effort to provide the “why” to staff
- Joven and Dr. Sahota have been working more on violence mitigation
- Since our last update, we have seen a pickup in utilization of the violence mitigation resources on the pulse page!
- Sahota and the team are working on putting together an escalation process in the form of an algorithm that is easy to follow
- More to come on this
- The Therapeutic Violence Mitigation (TVM) team has been making a list of patients that have been known to be violent.
- These patients are visited daily to update care plans and coordinate with the care teams.
- We have seen a large decrease in BRRTs and EARS reports regarding these patients as a result.
- Reminder: File an EARS for a patient who exhibits violent behavior.
- Members brought it to our attention that the Walter Rand Garage gate has been consistently open
- Cooper will be addressing this
