Local 5138 Gives 10-Day Notice to Strike

Today at negotiations, HMH AGAIN REFUSED to give us the safe staffing ratios our patients need, and made NO MOVEMENT on wages! We have safe staffing ratios across the state now, including another HMH hospital, Palisades. Research shows that safe staffing ratios protect patient care. Nurses who joined negotiations via zoom today spoke out: Why does this hospital feel like our patients at Southern Ocean don’t deserve the same? Why does corporate think our hard work shouldn’t be rewarded with raises that respect our dedication?

Enough is enough! In response, your bargaining team delivered a 10-day strike notice to HMH.
