Local 5138 ULP Strike Update, June 3, 2025

Our fight for safe staffing and fair wages is our priority. We don’t want to strike on Monday at 7:00 AM – but we will if we have to. We continue to urge HMH to work with us to come back to the table with a proposal that respects our community and our nurses by providing staffing ratios. We have also filed multiple unfair labor practices against HMH, and need them to stop violating our rights as Union members and respect the law!

HMH thinks you deserve less. Bob Garrett is happy to keep millions for himself, but refuses to offer wages that keep pace with inflation. Bob Garrett gets VIP treatment when he needs care, but refuses to provide the same for the rest of our patients. Bob Garrett claims to be bargaining in good faith, but has violated both federal labor law and our contract as he tries to bully us and our patients.

IT’S TIME TO STAND UP!

EVERY MEMBER needs to take these actions TODAY if we are going to be successful in our fight for a safer, fairer SOMC:

HPAE President Debbie White is meeting with our State Senator and other elected officials and community leaders to let them know where we stand. We need them to take action and tell HMH that we need safe staffing in our contract.

Let’s keep the pressure on and STAY UNITED as we head into battle for our patients!
