CURRENT TRENDS IN NURSING, DECEMBER 2021
We are currently bargaining with HMHN over a Retention Bonus on behalf of Unionized Nurses and Nurse Educators in the OR, Ambulatory Surgery(JS) and Cardiac Surgery Admin (JS) at SOMC and JSUMC.
Over 83% of our membership in the Children's Health Unit signed a petition of solidarity calling on Rutgers and the DCF to maintain a safe work environment in the face of rising Covid numbers.
While there is still a big fight ahead of us, we are happy to announce that we have come to a Tentative Agreement with management on our local contract.

The Nominations/Election Committee announces that there are four local 5112 officer positions that are up for election this year. Nominations for these positions are currently being accepted by the nomination committee.
We met with the Hospital for another negotiations session, however there was little to no progress made. Management began the session with denials of a need for language prohibiting managers from using mandatory overtime as a staffing tool, citing that
