Workers’ Memorial Day Rally and March – April 27, 2014
HPAE joined other unions and community groups in the Workers Memorial Day Rally and March, held April 27 at the Lord Stirling School in New Brunswick, NJ. The event was sponsored by the Work Environment Council (WEC) and New Labor, a workers' center in New Jersey.
Every year, the labor movement pauses in solemn recognition of Workers Memorial Day. We remember the working men and women whose lives were needlessly cut short due to workplace hazards and inadequate safety precautions, and those who suffered on-the-job injuries.
HPAE members and staff participated at the event. In the photo below, Rachel Brown, a Local 5094 Representative, and Bryan Nelson, HPAE Staff Representative, are speaking to the several hundred people who attended the event.
