Local Leaders at CLC Meeting, Discuss Contract Negotiations

Local 5131 President Dana Barrett and Local 5131 Vice President Michelle Silvio attended a meeting of the Southern New Jersey Central Labor Council on April 14. Dana and Michelle talked to representatives of other labor unions about our upcoming legislative breakfast and passed out petitions in support of our fight for improved staffing at Inspira hospitals.

At the meeting, Assemblyman Louis Greenwald discussed the need for a constitutional amendment to fund the state pension program, the plan to fund the Transportation Trust Fund, and the dire situation in Atlantic City, which has the potential to impact the whole state.

Union reps representing striking Verizon workers were also there and gave an update on their strike. They urged other union members to show support at the picket lines.
