HPAE is joining with hundreds of labor unions, community groups, and progressive organizations to support the People’s Climate March, which will be held September 21st in New York City.
The March coincides with the September 23 global summit on climate change called by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who will propose an aggressive global pact to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the end of 2015.
Workers and union members play a crucial role in responding to climate change and the extreme weather events – such as Hurricane Sandy – that are the result of global warming due to the rise in greenhouse gases. HPAE members are joining this march to challenge the corporations and the “”1%”” who have not only attacked workers’ rights, but are primarily responsible for global warming. Join us in demanding justice on the job and climate justice.
