Jean Lucas Testifies Before Congress on the Need for Federal Safe Lift Legislation

Jean Lucas, former Local 5118 President and a retired RN from Cooper University Hospital, testifed before Congress on Tuesday in support of federal legislation regarding safe lift legislation. Jean cited her own career-ending injury incurred as a result of lifting a 600 pound patient.

John Conyers, a member of the House of Representatives for the 13th District in Michigan, also testified in support of the bill. Congressman Conyers has been a consistent advocate in Congress for worker health and safety.
