Members Vote to Extend Contract Until August 31st

At a membership meeting held at the Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ yesterday, Local 5103 members voted by a strong majority to extend our contract from May 22 to August 31.

The contract extension allows Local 5103 to continue to work with the national union coalition to bargain a national contract with ARC regarding several key issues, including health and pension benefits. While those negotiations have not yet begun, progress has been made in establishing the groundrules for national bargaining.

The three month contract extension provides that any wage increases negotiated before August 31 shall be retroactive to May 22. In addition, there can be no increase in employees’ paymments for health insurance and the no-layoff of RNs language is continued during the extension. All other provisions of the contract remain in effect.
