Cooper RNs Vote “Yes” for Strike Notice
With less than three weeks to go before our contract expires, Local 5118 members voted to give the Local 5118 Negotiations Committee the authority to send a 10 day strike notice to Cooper administration, if necessary.
Many of the key issues in the negotiations are still unresolved. Staffing issues are particularly important. Cooper nurses are angry that new nurses are being taken off of orientation early, as well as the hospital’s contract proposal to expand float districts and their overall disregard for patient safety.
