HPAE would like to remind everyone that the deadline to either initiate vaccination, provide proof of vaccination for Covid or be granted a medical or religious accommodation is Monday, August 2nd. According to the most recent email sent by the Hospital on July 28, 2021:
“Employees who fail to initiate vaccination against Covid-19 and report their vaccination status to Employee Health by August 2nd, will not be permitted on campus and will be salary deleted beginning with all shifts that have a start time on August 3rd. Staff may not charge such absences to vacation, sick or float holiday time. Employees who have not initiated vaccination or received an approved exception/accommodation will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.”
It is important to note that if you were late requesting an exception/accommodation, and have still not received a response, please notify your local union rep for assistance as soon as possible to avoid interruption with your employment.
